Womsikuk "Kuk" James '21 is an enrolled member of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah). After completing his undergraduate studies, Kuk plans on either pursuing a master's degree in government and public policy or enrolling in law school. Professionally, he intends to focus on tribal economic development and the bolstering of tribal courts and tribal criminal jurisdiction, through the government, non-profit, or private sectors.
Kuk James is a recipient of the Udall Foundation Native American Congressional Internship. Congratulations to Kuk and to the other Indigenous Dartmouth student recipients of this prestigious internship: Alayah C. Johnson-Jennings '21 (Quapaw Tribe of Indians), Caitlin E. Wanic '21 (Bay Mills Indian Community), and Janae A. Harris '21 (Arapahoe Tribe of the Wind River Reservation).
