Diane is an avid lover of the outdoors, where some of her favorite hobbies include horseback riding, hiking, and walking. She enjoys reading (her favorite books are Diana Gabaldon's Outlander Series), listening to classical music, keeping warm by a campfire, and spending time with the people she loves.
Throughout her thirteen-year academic career, she has always sought to advocate for lifelong learning and enjoys mentoring and assisting students in their academic pursuits. She came to Dartmouth as a Military Transfer Student in the Fall of '19 and graduated in the Fall of '21 with a BA in Classical Studies. While attending as a student, she was a Student Veteran Association (SVA) member and a TEDxDartmouth coordinator (pre-COVID). She served as an intern with the Academic Skills Center (ASC), where she assisted the ASC Directors with the expansion of the Create Y/Our Dartmouth Course (now known as College Knowledge) from four days to four weeks in conjunction with the First-Year Summer Enrichment Program (FYSEP).
Before her acceptance to Dartmouth, she had served twelve years in the New Hampshire Army National Guard as a Flight Medic and State Aeromedical NCO. She's been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and was part of a humanitarian mission in Guatemala. Outside of military service, she had previously worked as the Southern Vermont Regional Coordinator through the University of Vermont, Extension, where her goal was to train the community about the challenges faced by families whose loved one is deployed and how to assist their unique needs. Alongside professional development, she was attending college and later transferred from River Valley Community College with an AS in Biological Sciences and an AA in Liberal Arts with a focus on Creative Writing--to Dartmouth.
As a first-generation college student, she is excited to be a part of this team and connect with and serve the first-generation, low-income community!
