Upcoming events and deadlines
It's not too late to sign up for the WISP Winter Program 2021! We developed a broad program of virtual opportunities for the Winter term. All the activities are open to any Dartmouth student. The tiered stipend program is open only to WISP students in the Class of 2024.
Upcoming activities include:
• 1/21/21 WISP Alumnae in Science Panel
• 1/28/21 WISP Science Faculty Spotlight
Six-Word Story Contest Winners
We asked WISP Interns 2020 to compose Six-Word Stories, reflecting their internship experience during the changed educational environment of COVID-19.
First Place: "Formerly considered male, octopus has babies!" Anahita Kodali
Second Place: "OChem: only she raised her hand." Amanda Sun
Third Place: "Ball rolling; then coronavirus pressed pause." Sonia Eckstein
Peer Mentor Program
Mentoring happens at many levels. The WISP Peer Mentor Program matches new students interested in STEM fields with more experienced students who can show them the ropes. Sign up to be matched at dartgo.org/wispmentee20 by 9/18/20.
Internships
WISP internships match women interested in STEM fields to on-going faculty research projects. They expose students to research in action. Research opportunities for First Years will shift to starting in Spring 2021 at the earliest, due to all '24s being off campus during Winter term
Wetterhahn Science Symposium
The Wetterhahn Science Symposium celebrates undergraduate STEM research at Dartmouth each spring. Due to the COVID-19 Response, the 2020 Wetterhahn Science Symposium was canceled. Looking forward to 2021!
