Princeton In Latin America

About the Fellowship

Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) offers early-career professionals the chance to engage in immersive, hands-on experiences with leading organizations across Latin America and the Caribbean. PiLA partners with NGOs and multilateral organizations and places Fellows in year-long service fellowships with nonprofit, public service, humanitarian, and government organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Placements emphasize the power of firsthand work experience to shape young people's attitudes and mobilize them to effect positive social change. PiLA enhances the mission of its partners by building their capacity to constructively impact the communities they serve, addressing the social, economic, and political barriers to egalitarian community development.

PiLA fellowship experiences are often described as transformational, both for personal and professional development and growth. It is often also the start of a career in development or social responsibility in Latin America. It is an opportunity to join a growing community of passionate agents for good in an array of sectors. No matter the host organization or location, all fellowships last approximately 12 months.

Each Fellow can expect: comprehensive pre-departure guidance and support and a virtual orientation; a combination of room, board, and a stipend to meet basic living needs during their service (exact provisions vary); opportunities to connect with other PiLA Fellows and Alumni through virtual events; regular check-ins with PiLA staff; a variety of professional development opportunities; and the opportunity to gain unique and invaluable professional and cultural insight.

The 2026-27 PiLA fellowship application will open on in late August. Read more on their website!
