Princeton In Asia

About the Fellowship

The Princeton In Asia (PiA) Fellowships are focused on creating a resilient organizational structure, with the team, tools, and resources to adapt to challenges and implement the strategic plan. In doing so, we want to ensure that diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism are centered in our mission and the approach to all our work. We seek to develop a more inclusive, equitable, and robust organization and to amplify our impact. Their mission is to foster mutual appreciation and cross-cultural understanding between the United States and Asia through immersive work fellowships in host organizations and communities.

PiA Fellowships offer transformative, immersive experiences. They have partnered with experts in international education and cultural exchange to provide training, resources and structures to deepen immersion and enhance the transformational potential of fellowships. Their network of Country Advisors develops unique fellowship opportunities, provides country-specific orientation, and mentors Fellows. There are opportunities for ongoing dialogue and reflection during and after the fellowship year and opportunities for Fellows to engage with PiA Alumni.

Each Fellow will have access to: an immersive, paid work opportunity at a host organization in Asia; a stipend from the host organization intended to foster immersive experiences in the host community, as well as to cover the cost of safe housing, food, telecommunications, and local travel; reimbursement for visa and work permit fees, premium-free travel medical and emergency evacuation insurance, international SOS membership, mental health support, and predeparture training and resources; support from PiA Country Advisors; connection with the PiA Alumni Network; and language grants (by application).

The 2026-27 PiA fellowship application will open on August 27, 2025. Read more on their website!
