Tawana Cabezas is the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Students for First-Year Students at Dartmouth College. She approaches her work with first-year students holistically, focusing on the whole person and taking the time to provide individualized support and meaningful engagement.
A true Jersey girl, Tawana was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, and later lived in Wayne, just minutes from Manhattan, before moving to New Hampshire in 2017. She loves shopping, diners, and coffee, and considers New York City her favorite place to spend time, as it always offers something new to discover with each visit.
Tawana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Social Services from William Paterson University and her Master of Science in Human Services, Counseling Studies from Capella University. She began her career in higher education in 2001 and has found it to be her life's joy, dedicating herself to supporting students and their academic journeys.
At Dartmouth, Tawana looks forward to welcoming new students and being part of their growth and success throughout their first year.
