Marvin J. Burns, Ph.D.

Dr. Marvin Jerry Burns is the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Students at Dartmouth College, where he supports student success through advising, mentoring, and leadership development. He holds a PhD in Higher Education Human Resources Management from Colorado State University along with degrees from the University of Missouri - Columbia, and Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. With expertise in student affairs, academic affairs, diversity and inclusion, crisis management, and wholistic students support praxis, Dr. Burns is committed to creating equitable and transformative learning environments that empower students to explore their academic spaces intellectually, as well as thrive and prepare for leadership beyond Dartmouth College.
