Requirements
- A constitution that outlines the organization's mission, goals, membership requirements, and leadership structure and responsibilities.
- A staff advisor from the Office of Student Life.
- Commitment to utilizing Dartmouth Groups for organization management (leadership and rosters, sharing events, etc.).
Process
To be recognized as a governance organization, you must reach out to the Office of Student Life to discuss your organization to determine if your group qualifies as a governance organization.
If it is determined that your group falls into this category, you will then be asked to submit an application outlining:
- why your organization falls into the category of governance
- what needs it will address and how the creation of this group addresses this need
- your organization's mission, goals, and fiscal/funding plan
- Your group's constitution
Upon completion of these submissions, meet with representative(s) from the Office of Student Life to discuss your organization's mission, goals, and fiscal/funding plans.
If it is determined that your group will be recognized, the organization agrees to the ongoing expectations set forth by the Office of Student Life.
