Scheduling Exams

Before Scheduling Your Exams

Make sure you have logged in to A11y to request Faculty Notification Letters. If you have not already done this, instructions may be found on the Requesting Accommodations page.

Next, discuss with your professors whether they will administer your exams or if you will take your exams at the Testing Center.

If your professor indicates that they will administer your accommodated exams, you will work with them directly regarding exams in that class.

If your professor indicates that you will take exams for their class in the Testing Center, refer to the information below regarding scheduling your exams with the Testing Center.

Scheduling Exams

To schedule exams at the A11y Testing Center, you must use the A11y Student Portal. Please schedule your exams a minimum of three (3) business days prior to the exam date. (Note: Finals should be scheduled five (5) business days in advance.)

Step-by-Step Scheduling Instructions

Exam Scheduling Blocks

Exams may be scheduled to start as early as 8 a.m. and end no later than 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.

During finals, exams may be scheduled to start as early as 8 a.m. and end no later than 7 p.m., which applies Sunday through Friday.

Late Requests for Exams

If you do not schedule your exam at least three (3) business days in advance (five (5) business days in advance for a final), you will need to submit a Late Exam Request through A11y.

Exams scheduled late will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may not be approved if we do not have space to seat you. If this happens, email your SAS advisor immediately upon learning there is not a seat for you at the Testing Center. This helps us to know how we can best support you to ensure that you schedule future exams in a timely fashion. Scheduling in a timely fashion also makes the process of taking an exam smoother and less stressful for you, the Testing Center, and your professor.

Canceling or Rescheduling Exams

If you have decided not to take an exam in the A11y Testing Center after you have scheduled it, please log into the A11y to cancel it.

If illness or an emergency makes you unable to take your scheduled exam, please cancel your exam request and notify your professor.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Canceling or Rescheduling Exams

Rescheduling a missed exam is the student's responsibility, but this must be done in collaboration with and approval from your professor.
