Join the Native American Program and Indigenous Peoples' Month Planning Committee for an interactive cultural experience that begins with a casual demonstration and conversation before dinner with Shgen George (Tlingit). Following dinner, we’ll continue with a hands-on workshop focused on thigh spinning, a traditional materials preparation activity. Participants will learn to spin merino wool and cedar bark strips into warp, a thick rope-like yarn used in Chilkat weaving. Sponsored by the Special Programs and Events Committee.
Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
