The Japanese Language Program, started in 2014, allows students to live together to immerse in Japanese language and culture. Students of all language ability levels are invited to apply to live in this community to further enhance their knowledge and skills. Fluency is not required.
This program will be part of our hybrid program where students assigned to live in residence halls around campus to participate in programming in a central location. Student will not be co-located on a floor together.
Residents are expected to speak Japanese with each other and can also expect to engage with the program on a weekly basis through language tables or other language/culture programming.
Some residents of this learning community will have the opportunity to live co-located together in one of our residence halls to allow for a maximum level program immersion. As space is limited, we will also offer the opportunity for students assigned to live in residence halls around campus to participate in programming through our hybrid model.
