Humanities LLC

The Humanities Living Learning Community allows first-year students to live together to immerse themselves in truly integrated learning.

About the Community

The Humanities Living Learning Community (LLC) provides the opportunity for students to engage in conversations about humanities, life, and the liberal arts as well as get to know renowned faculty on a personal level through dinner conversations hosted in the residence hall as well as at professors' houses. This LLC is sponsored by the Leslie Center for the Humanities and the Associate Dean of Arts and Humanities. Residents have premier access to performances at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, exhibits at the Hood Museum of Art, trips, and intimate dinner discussions with visiting artists and performers. For students who enroll in the Humanities 1 & 2 series, this LLC also provides a unique opportunity to connect classroom content with the residential experience. Dartmouth College, as a small liberal arts institution, prides itself on student access to faculty, and this LLC is a premier opportunity to capitalize on that through the curricular connection and the collaboration with faculty on a personal level.

Residency Expectations

Residents are asked to engage with the program on a weekly basis through dinners and other programming.
