2019-2020 WAIVER INFORMATION
Students who have their own health or insurance plan may apply to waive the automatic enrollment into the Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan (DSGHP) by completing the waiver process by July 1st of each year.
Students who wish to be enrolled into the DSGHP do not need to do anything, as enrollment is automatic. Students may also enroll their qualifying dependents by completing the Dependent Application.
To waive the Dartmouth Student Group Health Plan (DSGHP) coverage, your health/insurance plan must be compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements, in the Hanover NH area. If your health/insurance plan is not ACA compliant in the Hanover NH area, you will not be permitted to waive. If your health/insurance plan will only cover Emergency or Urgent care in the Hanover NH area, you will not be permitted to waive.
Please Note: Most Medicaid/Medicare plans outside of VT & NH plans, EPOs, HMOs, and International plans do not meet the requirements to waive. J1 visa holders are not permitted to waive.
To avoid a late fee, the waiver must be received by July 1, 2018.
To waive the DSGHP coverage for the 2018-2019 plan year:
