Dr. Mishka Murad prefers to be called Dr. Mishka or Dr. Murad (she/her/hers) and is from Pakistan. Before joining the Greek Life and Student Societies (GLASS), she worked as the Power & Equity Specialist for the Sexual Violence Prevention Project in the Student Wellness Center. She has an academic background in Gender and Women's Studies, Philosophy and International Education. She has taught Sociology, Philosophy and Ethics, Public Speaking, and Intercultural Communication, in Pakistan, Thailand, Mexico, and the US.
She joined GLASS because she was interested in working more closely with students to understand the student experience, so that some day when she has a role that can influence policies and practices, she does so in a way that balances advocacy with accountability. In May 2025 she received a Social Justice Award for offering programming and training that focused on relationship building, wellbeing, and inclusion.
She hopes that the Office can serve as a resource and a means of support, as well as a site of self-reflection and self-growth for students and staff alike.
