Robyn Millan

Faculty Advisor, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy

Robyn is an experimental physicist specializing in the processes acting on energetic particles in both the atmosphere and in space, and in developing new experimental methods for studying these processes. Her current projects include the Balloon Array for Radiation belt Relativistic Electron Losses(BARREL) which uses high altitude balloons launched in Antarctica and Sweden to study how energetic electrons are scattered into Earth’s atmosphere from space, and a laboratory experiment to study how x-rays are produced by lightning.
