Biology 11- Professor Kevin Peterson
Jessica Kobsa is a ’20 from Wilton, Connecticut who is planning to major in Neuroscience. She is involved with Dartmouth EMS and does research at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. She is looking forward to being a study group leader for Biol 11.07 because she can’t imagine a better introduction to the sciences at Dartmouth than Professor Peterson’s class. Fun Fact: In her free time, she loves to get lost on long runs in Pine Park.
Honor Paine is a '20 from New York City. She has not declared a major but loves studying the brain sciences as well as biology, anthropology and French and is pre-med. She is also on the Dartmouth Ski Patrol (and loves it!!) and a member of the Nathan Smith Society and WISP. She is excited to be a study group leader because of how helpful the study groups were when she took BIOL 11 and of how awesome Prof. Peterson is as an instructor.
Cristian "Cris" Cano is a '20 from a suburb outside of Fort Worth, TX who attended boarding school in Boca Raton, FL – so getting used to Hanover's weather wasn't easy! While still happily undeclared, Cris is strongly considering a Biology major (with a concentration in Genetics!) and a Music minor. Outside of the classroom, Cris writes for the Mirror, a weekly magazine produced by The Dartmouth; works as a tour guide; and is a part of FYSEP, Dartmouth's first-generation college student support network. A fun fact about Cris is that he is a self-declared Nintendo superfan, and when he was younger, his dream job was to become someone who composed music for video games!
Grace Anderson is a ‘20 from Chicago, Illinois. She is on the pre-med track and planning to major in Government with a minor in Biology. She plays tennis for the club team, is a member of Dartmouth EMS and works for a biomedical lab at Thayer. She applied to be a study group leader to be able to help other students succeed in classes she enjoyed. Fun Fact: Her favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream!
Katie Carithers is a ’20 from Atlanta, Georgia. She is planning on majoring in English and minoring in both Spanish and Psychological Sciences. She volunteers at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center through the Patient Support Corps program. She is a member of the Dartmouth Rude Mechanicals and the Dartmouth Forensic Union (debate team) and an editor for the literary magazine Humbug. Katie is excited to be a study group leader because she enjoys teaching and fostering critical thinking skills. She also values study groups because she knows how they can ease the stress of classes and help students find their footing in them. Fun Fact: She loves Cabin & Trail’s dinertoure visits each week because all of the diners have amazing muffins.
