Biology 11- Professor Kevin Peterson

Jessica Kobsa

Jessica Kobsa is a ’20 from Wilton, Connecticut who is planning to major in Neuroscience. She is involved with Dartmouth EMS and does research at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. She is looking forward to being a study group leader for Biol 11.07 because she can’t imagine a better introduction to the sciences at Dartmouth than Professor Peterson’s class. Fun Fact: In her free time, she loves to get lost on long runs in Pine Park.

Honor Paine

Honor Paine is a '20 from New York City. She has not declared a major but loves studying the brain sciences as well as biology, anthropology and French and is pre-med. She is also on the Dartmouth Ski Patrol (and loves it!!) and a member of the Nathan Smith Society and WISP. She is excited to be a study group leader because of how helpful the study groups were when she took BIOL 11 and of how awesome Prof. Peterson is as an instructor.

Cris Cano

Cristian "Cris" Cano is a '20 from a suburb outside of Fort Worth, TX who attended boarding school in Boca Raton, FL – so getting used to Hanover's weather wasn't easy! While still happily undeclared, Cris is strongly considering a Biology major (with a concentration in Genetics!) and a Music minor. Outside of the classroom, Cris writes for the Mirror, a weekly magazine produced by The Dartmouth; works as a tour guide; and is a part of FYSEP, Dartmouth's first-generation college student support network. A fun fact about Cris is that he is a self-declared Nintendo superfan, and when he was younger, his dream job was to become someone who composed music for video games!

Grace Anderson

Grace Anderson is a ‘20 from Chicago, Illinois. She is on the pre-med track and planning to major in Government with a minor in Biology. She plays tennis for the club team, is a member of Dartmouth EMS and works for a biomedical lab at Thayer. She applied to be a study group leader to be able to help other students succeed in classes she enjoyed. Fun Fact: Her favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream!

Katie Carithers

Katie Carithers is a ’20 from Atlanta, Georgia. She is planning on majoring in English and minoring in both Spanish and Psychological Sciences. She volunteers at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center through the Patient Support Corps program. She is a member of the Dartmouth Rude Mechanicals and the Dartmouth Forensic Union (debate team) and an editor for the literary magazine Humbug. Katie is excited to be a study group leader because she enjoys teaching and fostering critical thinking skills. She also values study groups because she knows how they can ease the stress of classes and help students find their footing in them. Fun Fact: She loves Cabin & Trail’s dinertoure visits each week because all of the diners have amazing muffins.

BIOLOGY 12

Bio 12- Professor Natasha Grotz

Manon de Villemejane

Manon de Villemejane is a ‘18 at Dartmouth. Originally from France, she now lives in New York. She is a Psychology major following the pre-med track. She is the 2017-2018 Director of Operations for Dartmouth EMS, is involved in neuroscience research on face perception, and has recently become a pre-health peer mentor. Manon applied to be a study group leader because she believes she can help students be more familiar and comfortable with the information presented in class. Having been in the class before, she knows several strategies that might help students be successful in Bio 12. Fun Fact: Manon is also a Master Scuba Diver and goes scuba diving almost every vacation with the rest of her family!

Bio 12- Professor Roger Sloboda

Courtney Stump

Courtney Stump is a '20 from Portland, Oregon who is majoring in biology and history. She is also pre-med, and enjoys doing research at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at DHMC, working as an EMT for Dartmouth EMS, playing oboe in various chamber music ensembles, and, of course, tutoring through the Academic Skills Center. She has had a lifelong passion for biology, and is very excited to introduce others to the fascinating field of biology by leading a study group! A fun fact about Courtney is that she was an exchange student in Spain in high school and is fluent in Spanish!

Madeleine Coffey

Madeleine is a ‘18 pre-med student with an AMES major and Arabic minor. She is from the small town of Bangor, Maine. She currently co-chairs the group Students Fighting Hunger and is a Freshman UGA. In the past she has worked as an Arabic drill instructor in the AMELL department and as a research assistant studying Parkinson's Disease at DHMC. She is very excited to be a study group leader, having found study sessions very helpful in her past biology courses. Fun Fact: She once baked a wedding cake, which is pretty neat.

BIOLOGY 40- Professor Eric Schaller

Albert Lee

Albert Lee is an '18 from California. He's a Biology major, and he likes playing the violin! He is excited to be a study group leader for Biochemistry because he loved the course, especially as taught by Professor Schaller. Fun Fact: Albert likes neo noir films.

Sumita Strander

Sumita Strander is an '18 from Albion, Michigan who is majoring in anthropology, modified with neuroscience and is a pre-health student. In addition to taking classes, she is currently working on research for her thesis, and is involved with GlobeMed, the Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Science, Pre-Health Mentor Corps, tutoring, and Global Health Fellows, and is also a tour guide. She was in a study group her freshman year and found it to be a supportive and helpful opportunity to solidify understanding and get extra help. She led her first study group last year, and found that really rewarding so is excited to return this year. Fun fact: Sumita has had a total of 15 teeth pulled out, but you'd never know.

CHEMISTRY 5- PROFESSOR MICHAEL RAGUSA

Han Cui

Han Cui ‘20 is an Economics major from Sharon, MA. He's an economics major and likes to play tennis. He enjoys chemistry and loves to help others succeed in the subject. Han’s fun fact is even though he's from Massachusetts, Han actually went to elementary school in Hanover.

Madeline Lee

Maddy Lee is a ‘20 from Syracuse, NY. She is a Neuroscience major and participates in research in a memory lab. Maddy’s fun fact is that In her spare time she enjoys napping in sunlit areas. Caroline Pennacchio Caroline Pennacchio is a '20 from the northern suburbs of NYC, is pre-med and has not yet declared a major. She has pursued undergraduate research through WISP and is excited to be continuing her work in the same lab this term. In her free time, she enjoys running long distances with the Dartmouth Running Team, swimming and reading. She is excited to be a study group leader so that she can help other students to better understand Chemistry concepts as her study group leader did for her.

Economics 1

Econ 1- Patricia Anderson

Sarishka Desai

Sarishka Desai is a ’20 from Darien, Connecticut. Although currently undecided, she is very excited about biology, economics, and geography, and hopes to continue studying some combination of these three fields here at Dartmouth. Sarishka has tutored in the past, and is incredibly excited to be a study group leader to help facilitate group learning and help provide an alternate style of learning environment outside of class, both of which she learned were incredibly important after her first term at Dartmouth. Outside of classes, Sarishka is involved with Raaz, Dartmouth’s premiere South Asian Dance Team. She also teaches CPR/First Aid classes with Dartmouth EMS, and is involved in bioengineering research at the Ackerman Lab in Thayer. A fun fact about Sarishka is that she has been bitten by the travel bug and has visited over 25 countries in 4 continents!

Jonathan Song

Jonathan Song is a '20 hailing from Bergen County, NJ, who plans on being a Economics and Computer Science double-major. On campus, he is involved in Rockefeller Center programs, DIPP, and the Dartmouth Business Journal. He also enjoys watching sports, listening to all kinds of music, and volunteering. Jonathan has used study groups several times himself and had positive experiences that he hopes to replicate for his own study group.

Econ 1- Frank Zarnowski

DJ Kim

DJ (DhungJoo) Kim '19 was born in Seoul, South Korea. He graduated from Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where he served as the Student Council and French Honor Society President. At Dartmouth, DJ is pursuing an Engineering modified with Studio Art degree and organizes HackDartmouth. His freshman fall he created a startup company with his friend and launched a mobile application that allows college students to carpool long distances.Outside of classes, he enjoys snowboarding, drawing, and lying in his hammock on the green. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in consulting. DJ is excited to be a study group leader so he can help other students understand the course material better.

Jonathan Klein

Jono Klein '19 is from Los Angeles, CA. He is an Engineer interested in entrepreneurship, public policy and music. Jono broadcasts a weekly show on WDCR, works as a sound engineer at the recording studio, and is a member of Humanitarian Engineering, Men's Club Soccer and Bones Gate Fraternity. Fun fact: he plays the vibraphone, loves to surf and ski, and enjoyed the infamous Econ 1.

Devon Kurtz

Devon Kurtz '20 is from Westfield, Massachusetts and is majoring in Classics. When he is not in class he spends his time running on trails in the area and working with Narcotics Anonymous groups in the Upper Valley as a volunteer. He is also a member of the Student Assembly.

ECONOMICS 20- PROFESSOR DAVID COTTRELL

Jacob Cruger

Jacob Cruger is an '18 from Illinois studying economics with a minor in quantitative social science. Outside of class you're likely to find him at club swim practices, working for the admissions office, reading in his room, or spending time outdoors. Jacob wanted to become an econometrics study group leader because he finds the subject fascinating and enjoys helping his peers. A fun fact about Jacob is that he really loves dogs.

Garrett Muscatel

Garrett Muscatel ‘20 is a Government and Economics double major from California and came to Dartmouth to take courses in Economics. Garrett enjoys Economics so much and decided to share that passion by leading an Econ Study Group with a strong desire to help others learn Econ and hopefully enjoy it too.

ECONOMICS 22- PROFESSOR MARJORIE ROSE

April Liu

April Liu '18 is from Short Hills, New Jersey. She is an economics major and linguistics minor. On campus, she is involved with the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra, Alpha Xi Delta, and has conducted research in the economics and linguistics departments. She enjoyed leading Professor Rose's Econ 22 study group in 16W and looks forward to doing so again this term.

Sruthi Pasupuleti

Sruthi Pasupuleti is a '20 from Princeton, NJ studying Mathematical Data Science. She is also a part of RAAZ, the Aegis and Smart Woman Securities. She is excited to be a study group leader because she believes the best way to learn is by teaching others. A fun fact about her is that she can recite the alphabet backwards.

GOVERNMENT 5- PROFESSOR STEPHEN BROOKS

Charlotte Blatt

Charlie Blatt is an '18 from Scarsdale, NY. She is a government major and a French minor. Charlie is involved in War and Peace Fellows, Rockefeller Leadership Fellows, College Democrats, and Alpha Phi. She loves sharing her passion for international relations with other students, and she is excited to lead the government 5 study group again this term.

GOVERNMENT 10- PROFESSOR DAVID COTTRELL

Jason Kim

Jason Kim is a 19 economics major with a quantitative social studies minor. He is involved in Dartmouth Snowsports, Camp Kesem, and Machine Learning Club. Jason’s fun fact is that during high school, he was a nationally ranked archer and did some coaching on the side.

LINGUISTICS 1- PROFESSOR JAMES STANFORD

John Damianos

John Damianos is a Dartmouth Alum Class of 2016 and second-year student at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine. In undergrad he majored in Linguistics modified with Neuroscience and minored in French. He loves linguistics and loves teaching, so leading study groups is really fun for him. Fun fact: as a Ling major, John can pronounce every sound in every human language.

Isabelle Strong

Isabelle is a '19 from Stowe, VT. She is a Linguistics major and an intended English and education minor. On campus she plays saxophone for the Dartmouth Chamber Orchestra and volunteers with ASPIRE, Best Buddies and Habitat for Humanity. She also works with America Reads and is doing research with the Linguistics department. She is excited to be a study group leader because she loves linguistics and I loves to teach. She also loves meeting new people and looks forward to getting to know both students that may want to major in linguistics and those who are just taking it out of interest. One fun fact about Isabelle is that despite being from Stowe (the ski capital of the east) she doesn't know how to downhill ski!

Abigail Buckley

Abigail Buckley is a '19 from Long Island majoring in Physics and Cognitive science. She enjoys music and free food. She decided to apply to be a study group leader so she can help students engage deeply with material and learn from their peers.

MATHEMATICS 1

Eduardo Corea-Dilbert

Eduardo is a Mathematics and Biology double major. He is also on the premed track (yes, he knows it’s crazy, but is up for the challenge). Eduardo has tutored many different Math courses and is excited to transition to being a Study Group Leader, specifically for Math 1 and being able to share his knowledge and love of math to students in this intro course.

Kate Royce

Kate Royce is a 19 from Boston, MA majoring in math. She is an active member of the fencing team, the Dartmouth Outing Club, and a Global Health Fellow. She is leading 3 Math Study Groups this term: Math 1, Math 8, and Math 20. Post-Dartmouth, Kate plans to attend law school after graduation.

Kellen Appleton

Kellen Appleton is from from West Virginia, and majoring in mathematics and minoring in German. However, he spends most of his time involved in Sustainability on campus, be it living in the SLC, working in the sustainability office, or just carrying a spork. He's also involved in low-income and work-study programs on campus.

Abigail Kott

Abby Kott is a '20 from North Carolina currently planning on majoring in Economics and minoring in Mathematics. She is on the volleyball team and is the youngest of four. Math 8 was one of her favorite classes here at Dartmouth, so she would love to help other students learn and master the material.

MATHEMATICS 11- ALL Sections

Sriram Bapatla

Sriram Bapatla is a '20 from the armpit of America: New Jersey. He is currently a Mathematics and Economics double major, which is, as you can imagine, causing him a lot of stress. But, he still manages to do some activities on campus, including leading hikes with Cabin and Trail, performing as a trumpet player in the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra, and playing the guitar poorly. He is excited to be a study group leader because he knows how frustrating it feels to be lost in a Dartmouth-paced math class, and he would love to create an environment where things can just slow down for a bit. Fun Fact: His hair started graying in the fourth grade.

Benjamin Coleman

Benjamin Coleman is a '20 from Westchester, NY. He is interested in Computer Science and Math and is a member of the Dodecaphonics acapella group. Benjamin enjoys helping others work toward their goals, through which he also hopes to learn and grow. His fun fact is that he once had a pet fish.

PHYSICS 3- PROFESSOR YORKE BROWN

Alexandra Crosswait

Lexie Crosswait is a '19 from Fairfax, VA and is majoring in Biology modified with Mathematics, and minoring in Global Health. Lexie is very involved with Dartmouth EMS and Army ROTC and has the opportunity to train EMTs, teach First Aid and CPR classes, and train cadets through those activities. Lexie loves teaching, and misses tutoring and teaching academically, so is very excited for the opportunity to lead a Study Group this term.

Edward Camp

Edward Camp is an '18 from Bakersfield, CA who is majoring in Computer Science. He also is on the pre-med track in order to become a doctor. He has been a group study leader for General Physics 03 and 04 since last year and enjoys helping students when he can. He is also involved in the Dartmouth Chamber Orchestra, Super Smash Bros. Club, and just started in Club Badminton. His fun fact is that he also likes to code small mobile apps on the side.

Abigail Buckley

Abigail Buckley is a '19 from Long Island, New York majoring in Physics and Cognitive Science. She enjoys music and free food. She is excited to be a Study Group Leader so she can help students engage deeply with material and learn from their peers.

Hailey Nicholson

Hailey Nicholson is a ‘19 majoring in Engineering Modified with Computer Science and is planning to double minor in Mathematics and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is from Connecticut with a particular interest in teaching STEM, and has been a Learning Fellow, a Teaching Assistant, and a Tutor. She is excited to be a study group leader because she really enjoys helping students learn and loves discovering new ways to teach students problem-solving and pattern-recognition techniques. Hailey’s fun fact is that she also enjoys calligraphy and cycling.

PSYCHOLOGY 6- PROFESSOR JULIE DUMONT

Kensington Cochran

Kensington Cochran is a '20 from Atlanta, Georgia. She is a Neuroscience major and an Art History minor. She runs with DRT, teaches stand-up paddleboard classes, and hikes and kayaks with the DOC. Kensington also bakes cakes with extra sprinkles, drinks too much coffee, and works for Dartmouth EMS. Fun fact: she enjoys sitting with her friend Robert Frost up by the lone pine.

Meghana Yellanki

Meghana is a '20 from Westford, Massachusetts (which is about 30 minutes outside of Boston). She is planning on being a Neuroscience major with an Anthropology minor and is pre-med. She does neuroscience research on facial perception and recognition. She tutors different subjects. She walked onto the crew team and is getting involved in a few clubs around campus like Colleges Against Cancer. Meghana is excited to be a study group leader because her study group leader was helpful and she likes the material covered in Psyc 6. It’s also a great practice tool for her as well! A fun fact about her is that she has broken both her pinkies playing two completely different sports.

Zoe Enright

Zoe Enright is a ‘20 from Palo Alto, California. She has not declared her major yet, but would like to be a Neuroscience major. Zoe plays on the Varsity Women's Soccer Team and is excited to be a study group leader so that she can help other members of the Dartmouth Community and spread her knowledge from the course of Psychology 6. Zoe would also like to use this opportunity to give back to others the same help she received when she was a student in the class. A fun fact about Zoe is that she enjoys downhill skiing.
