They are a great alternative to peer tutoring, as it facilitates communication and collaborative work among peers and provides students with extra guidance from their study group leader.

How can I sign up for a Study Group?

Visit the Study Groups website, or follow the link posted on your course’s Canvas page.


Will I receive a confirmation email after I sign up?

Yes, you will receive an automated email within 1 business day of registering confirming your registration.


Is there an attendance requirement for Study Groups?

Yes. If you are absent for more than 3 consecutive weeks, you will forfeit your spot.


How often do Study Groups meet?

Study Groups meet 1.5 hours/week. The location and meeting time for each Study Group varies.


How can I become a Study Group Leader?

You can submit an application, found on our website. Study Group Leaders should have received an A or A- in the course and are expected to commit 1.5 hours/week, plus preparation and occasional pre-exam review sessions.


How much do Study Group Leaders get paid?

Study Group Leaders get paid $13.50/hr.
