ANTH 006 - Thayer

Carolina Brown Vasquez

Carolina Brown Vasquez is a '24 at Dartmouth. She plans on majoring in Anthropology and minoring in psychology. She is from Northern Virginia, enjoys working out, going on hikes, and swimming. Carolina is also on the Sexual Violence Prevention Project's Student Advisory Board, and is part of the Club Field Hockey team. She would like to become a tutor because she enjoys helping others succeed at subjects they were previously struggling with.

ANTH 006 - DeSilva

Grace Alston

Grace ('22) is an anthropology major from Chevy Chase, Maryland. When she is not studying, she plays ultimate frisbee, lots of video games, and roller skates. She studies anthropology because she is enamored with humans themselves --the way we create music, art, science, and rites of passage. She is concentrated in cultural anthropology, and has been an undergraduate research assistant to the CARE study (directed by Zaneta Thayer) that was a biological and cultural study on the effects of COVID-19 on mothers and maternal care systems in the United States. She wants to be a tutor because she cares deeply for anthropology at Dartmouth and wants to spread the joy of studying it to others. She specifically enjoyed ANTH 6 for the wealth of knowledge it provided her on the biological and evolutionary background of humans.

ASTR 002 - Hickox

Max Marchiony

Meet your tutor, Max Marchiony! Max is a '22 from Weston, MA majoring in QSS and thinking about a career in teaching and coaching. Max took a year off when the pandemic started, so even though he's a '22, he's anticipating graduation in 2023. Max is a varsity athlete on the Lightweight Crew and a director of the Snowsports School. When not rowing, skiing, or working towards his degree, he enjoys playing video games and recently joined Dartmouth's Rocket League roster.

BIO 12 - Bickel/Grotz

Ashna Kumar

Ashna is a '24 from Bridgewater, NJ and is a prospective Neuroscience major and English minor. On campus, she gets a taste for her future in healthcare through DEMS, writes for DUJS, and partakes in research examining how perception varies among individuals. Off campus, Ashna does some tutoring and is a crisis counselor who attends to individuals in times of personal crisis. She enjoys creating short stories and poetry, cooking up new recipes in the kitchen, and reading. Ashna enjoys being a tutor because there are few feelings as gratifying as seeing her peers complete difficult problems by fully comprehending the material and applying their knowledge. From her experience, tutoring her peers helps them learn material from someone who they identify with, while also reinforcing her understanding of certain topics.

 

Felix Rawlinson

Felix Rawlinson is a '24 from Gloucestershire in England. He loves rowing, got a silver medal representing GB at the junior world rowing championships in 2019 and is currently on the men's varsity heavyweight crew team at Dartmouth. He wants to be a biology and neuroscience double major. Felix wants to be a tutor because he has always received so much help from his peers when he was struggling with his subjects and wants to give back to the community that has helped him so much. One interesting fact about Felix is that he lives on a farm and looks after cows, sheep, pigs and even guinea fowl!

 

Jason McFadden

Jason is a '22 QSS major from Bethesda, Maryland who loves tutoring math and statistics! On campus, Jason is involved in Club Swim, research at DHMC, and UGAR. He plans to apply to medical school following his graduation from Dartmouth, with the eventual goal of becoming a pediatric ER physician. In his free time Jason enjoys running, swimming, going to 4 Aces, and spending time with friends and family. One interesting fact: Jason thought he was allergic to cake/brownies/pastries until age 12, when a blood test revealed the true allergy: nuts.

Alex Nemeth

Alex is doing the premed track with a major in Physics and a minor in Biology, but considering turning the bio minor into a major. He is also a member of the varsity ski team.

 

Lily Waddell

Lily is a '22 from Bangor, Maine. She enjoys being a tutor because she believes discussing with your peers is an invaluable way to learn from and connect with classmates. On campus, Lily is a biology major on a pre-health track, as well as a member of the varsity women's rugby team, SAPA, and Dartmouth Cancer Scholars. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time outdoors. Fun fact: Lily has a pretty impressive collection of funky socks.

 

Twisha Bhardwaj

Twisha is a '22 from Pennsylvania. She is studying neuroscience and government. On campus, she leads Dartmouth Generations, a service organization that connects students with older adults in the Upper Valley. She is also involved in research and the Nathan Smith Society. In her free time, she enjoys reading and listening to political podcasts!

Janelle Annor

Janelle is a neuroscience major and an anthropology minor with a cocenntration in global health. She is from Virginia, the NOVA region specifically. She seeks so explore academic, athletic, and social aspects of campus. She is involved in clubs like D-EMS, DCGH, and WISP. .

 

Jenn Chen

Jenn is a sophomore living in Delaware. She is interested in biology, particularly genetics and the genetic basis for diseases. Currently, she is working in a lab, studying genetic and epigenetic alterations in bladder cancer patients. Besides science, Jenn spends her free time reading and enjoys creative writing. She is interested in tutoring others not only to strengthen her own foundations of knowledge, but also to support others in their academic journeys.

 

Keli Pegula

Keli Pegula is from Scranton, PA and can be classified under many categories: second child of five, flutist, optimist, bibliophile, and a '24 with a major in neuroscience on the pre-health track. As a member of Aegis, she enjoys time outside taking photo walks as much as she enjoys cozy movie nights. She's also been recorded on two steel pan albums with her high school ensemble! Keli loves to help others, especially in areas where she has struggled and preserved, so tutoring peers is something she greatly enjoys.

Anna TerMolen is from Evanston, IL which is the first suburb north of Chicago. She is a psychology major, a biology minor, and on the pre-med track. Outside of classes, she does gastroenterology research, works with Dartmouth Stroke Action Program, and OPAL education. During her free time, she enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, doing others' makeup, and meeting new people on campus. She wants to tutor because she loves sharing her knowledge and studying tips with others. Additionally, she loves spending time with other students from across campus. Her fun fact is that she has sprained both her ankles, both her wrists, broken her arm and broken her leg!

 

Arjun Miklos

Arjun is a '23 from Palo Alto, California. At Dartmouth, he is a biology and math double major. On campus, Arjun is a research assistant in a computational genomics lab in the biology department and a youth mentor through Outdoor Leadership Experience. For fun, he enjoys playing basketball and golf, skiing, and paddle-boarding on the river. He wants to be a group tutor because he wants to meet new people and hopes to help them enjoy their classes as much as he did.

Jake Twarog

Jake Twarog is a '24 from Hinesburg, Vermont. He is interested in STEM, and is considering majoring in Engineering and English, although he knows this could always change! He enjoys playing his saxophone, the outdoors, and playing games, and is excited to pursue each of those this year at Dartmouth! He is interested in tutoring because he has always enjoyed helping people learn and challenge themselves, and loves teaching. One interesting fact about him is that he can type over a hundred words per minute with just two fingers.

Callie is a '24 from Lexington, MA, majoring in neuroscience and computer science. On campus, she is involved in Programming Board, and DUJS. Off campus, she volunteers with the Special Needs Support Center. She enjoys tutoring to maintain and update her knowledge of the material

Nisha Patel

Nisha is '23 from Lowell, Massachusetts and is a premed student majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in global health and chemistry. She is involved in visual cognition research through the PBS department. Nisha enjoys longboarding around campus and rewatching Marvel movies. A fun fact about her is that she went skydiving over the summer!

 

Kamren Khan

Kamren is a '23 from Florida majoring in neuroscience and English. On campus he is involved with research in the English Department. In his free time he enjoys running and climbing. Kamren wants to be a tutor because he enjoys learning through discussions with other students. A fun fact about him is that he is afraid of lizards.

 

Andrew Goyette

Andrew is a '23 from Smithfield, Rhode Island, and he is majoring in neuroscience and minoring in Russian. After Dartmouth, he hopes to enter medical school to prepare for a possible career in clinical research investigating infectious diseases or mental illness. Outside of the classroom, Andrew can often be found playing sports, such as hockey on Occom Pond in the winter, running around campus, and skiing. He also volunteers in the Luikart lab, which studies the relationship between Pten dysfunction and autism using mice models. Andrew wants to be a tutor because he seeks to reduce his peers' stress in difficult classes and help them understand the material better so they can enjoy what they are learning. An interesting fact about him is that he owns a hockey jersey collection.

Jacob Hanssen

Jake is a '22 studying government, economics, Chinese, and environmental studies. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and the San Francisco Bay Area. On campus, Jake is involved with the College Democrats, the LGBTQ+ Pride Committee, and the Dodecaphonics a cappella group. He studied abroad in Beijing in 19F, traveling across the country from Xi'an to Shanghai and Anhui to Tibet.

Emily Chen

Emily is a '24 from Bethesda, Maryland. She is interested in Computer Science and Sociology, but is still exploring new departments. At Dartmouth, Emily enjoys guiding admissions tours and spending time at the river. As a reformed CS-hater (thanks to COSC1 at Dartmouth), Emily hopes to help make CS more accessible and enjoyable for all.

 

Eric Leung

Eric Leung is a '24 from Princeton, NJ. He is currently Undecided, but is leaning towards majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Psychology. On campus, he is part of Dartmouth Model United Nations (DartMUN) and the Asian American Mentorship Program (AAMP). In his free time, he can be found going on occasional DOC trips, canoeing on the River, and stargazing on the golf course with friends. Since tutoring helped Eric immensely when he was struggling in challenging courses, he hopes to pay it forward and help other students succeed too. A fun fact about Eric is that he has a crazy sock collection of over 20 unique pairs of socks!

Alphonso is a '24 from Alpharetta, Georgia, planning to major in Computer Science. Outside of class he is a member of tabletop gaming club and the Entrepreneurship living learning community. He enjoys hiking and exploring the upper valley, as well as finding cool study spots around campus. He loves tutoring because it is an opportunity to help facilitate others' learning while reinforcing and challenging his own.

 

Paige Nakai

Paige is a '24 from the Four Corners region of New Mexico. She's a prospective Engineering major with an interest in CS. She enjoys taking long walks while listening to music. She also loves binge watching a good K-Drama. On campus she's active in the NAP, DACC, and slowly getting into POCO. She has had such a positive experience with the tutoring groups that she wants to give back. Tutoring also allows her to meet new people with similar interests and be a resource to others. A fun fact about her is that she's been collecting vinyl records since middle school.

Claire Draeger

Claire Draeger is a '24 from the San Francisco Bay Area. She is planning on majoring in Computer Science and Economics. She is currently a co-chair of the Environmental Stewardship Division of the DOC and is a student facilitator for SVPP First Year Sessions. In her free time she enjoys drawing, baking, and recently, crocheting. She wanted to become a group tutor because she had struggled in classes before and seen the benefits of group studying. She wants to help other people succeed in their studies through hard work and dedication. A fun fact about her is that she is left-handed when she writes and eats, but uses her right hand for everything else.

 

Jacob Kingsley

Jacob Kingsley is a '23 from Newton, MA majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Econ. On campus, he writes for the Jacko, is involved in Hillel, is the houseman for Sig Nu, and occasionally does things with the DOC. He wants to be a tutor in CS because taking CS his freshman year was really influential in defining his academic experience at Dartmouth and he want to be able to pay that forward. A fun fact about Jacob is that on the last Wednesday of every term he wears an all yellow suit for the whole day!

 

Jason Sinning

Jason Sinning '24 is a computer science major from Cheshire, CT. He is a member of DIPP and TAMID. He is a huge football fan, likes to go fishing, and likes classic rock music. An interesting fact about Jason is that he is an ordained minister. He wants to help students build a solid computer science foundation and truly master course material so as to help them in future CS classes.

Anna Hugney

Anna (she/her) is a '24 from Western Massachusetts. You can catch her in tons of STEM classes preparing for her Engineering major... or you might find her detoxing with a good book and tea. Anna loves to spend time hiking in nature with CnT and enjoyed doing work with the Sustainability Office as a SAP member last year. She intends to modify Engineering with Earth Science and frequently annoys her friends by talking about cool rock formations on the side of the highway or analyzing the physics of daily life. Anna is excited to be a tutor so she can help other students see the world around them in a totally new light!

Ethan Weber grew up in Solon, Ohio and attended University School. At Dartmouth, Ethan is studying Economics and Government. Outside of academics, some of Ethan's interests are hiking, sports, and guitar. He is currently involved with the Dartmouth Outing Club and Dartmouth Law Journal, and plans to join the club running and soccer teams.

Amya Luo

Amya is a 24' from Long Island, New York. She is considering majoring in Math and Economics. Outside of class, she loves playing badminton and doing Latin Dance. She is interested in tutoring because she finds that there are some concepts that are difficult to understand. However, due to limited time in class, the question could not be answered. Having a tutor becomes an efficient way to solve this problem. With experience in tutoring, she enjoys the moment when her students understand the topic and quickly grasp the key concepts. One interesting fact about her is that her former name is Amy. One day, her sister thought that this name was too typical. So she googled "girl's name" and found "Amya." Hence, Amy became Amya.

 

Sydney Hoffman

Sydney Hoffman is a '24 from Boca Raton, Florida. She enjoys playing tennis, reading, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends. She is interested in studying economics and Jewish studies. Sydney is involved with Hillel, Chabad, Women in Business, and other groups on campus! Sydney enjoys helping other students learn and wants others to love economics like she does. She also has a twin brother!

 

Luis Cusihuallpa Solorzano

Luis Cusihuallpa is a near-life-long resident from Cuzco, Peru. He graduated as valedictorian of COAR–an IB boarding school for high-ability Peruvian students. Luis founded Cunhantã, a social venture to conduct sex education workshops with teenagers in Brazil and Peru. He also acquired hands-on research while supporting the Functional-Morphology Laboratory at the Federal University of Amazonas in Brazil. Luis served as president at 'Schools Free from Violence' National Forum in Peru and is an alumnus from the Latin American Leadership Academy. Luis plans to major in Economics and aspires to become an ethical office-bearer in his country. He wants to be tutor because he knows from personal experience what is like to learn a new language. In addition to Spanish and English, he has developed a global outlook and proficiency in two other Romance languages.

Fun Fact: Once Luis won two dollars in a two-dollar lottery ticket.

Jack is a 23 from Chattanooga, Tennessee. On campus, Jack plays Club soccer as well as being involved with The Dartmouth and Colleges Against Cancer. He is interested in Economics and Anthropology, working as a tutor for Econ and doing research in the Economics department. Jack wants to be a tutor to be able to help other students succeed in academics and grow their interest and understanding of course material. A fun fact is that Jack can name all 196 countries of the world!

Katie is a '24 from Bethesda, MD hoping to major in Economics or Philosophy (or maybe both!). Outside of the classroom, she enjoys knitting, going nature walks, traveling, and playing lacrosse with the club team. She likes to tutor to give back to her community and meet new people! A fun fact is that she was in a local production of "Are You Smarter a 5th Grader?" (as a 5th grader).

Itish Goel

A sophomore at Dartmouth College, Itish is interested in leveraging computational power in the context of the social sciences. On campus, Itish is an Associate Consultant with the Dartmouth Consulting Group and is a part of Dartmouth Humanitarian Engineering's ongoing project to install solar stoves in Soroti, Uganda. He splits his free time between hiking around campus and volunteering at Maynard House - a charitable Boarding House in Hanover, NH.

 

Rine Uhm

Rine is a '22 double major in Economics and History from New Hampshire. A fun fact about her is that she is double jointed in her pinkies! On campus, she's involved with Club Taekwondo, research, and the Outing Club. She wanted to be a tutor to give back to the Dartmouth community.

 

William Glovsky

Will Glovsky ('23) is from Boston, MA. Inside the classroom, he is a Rufus Choate Scholar majoring in Economics modified with Psychology with a concentration in Industrial Organization. Outside of the classroom, he is part of his fraternity, Beta Alpha Omega, a DREAM mentor, and a member of Dartmouth's Finance Society. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, running across Dartmouth's beautiful campus, and tearing up Super Smash Bros. He wants to be a tutor because he gets how stressful classes at Dartmouth can be and honestly would not be here today if it weren't for his peers that put in the work to help him out.

Barbara is a '22 from Shanghai, China double majoring in Economics and Government with a minor in Theater. In her free time, Barbara enjoys traveling, working out, thrifting, and foraging for the best dim sum in the neighborhood.

 

Reagen Murray Readinger

Reagen is an Economics major modified with Psychology. She is a '23 from London, England. Outside of the classroom, she is a coxswain on the crew team, a co-owner of Gratefull Bed Company, an executive for Women in Student Businesses and an assistant director for the First Year Production and Fall Mainstage Production.

 

Megan Ren

Megan is a '23 from Lexington, Massachusetts. She studies computer science and quantitative social science at Dartmouth, and really enjoys coding applications and conducting research to build off of her classroom knowledge. She plays for Daybreak, Dartmouth's Women's Ultimate Frisbee team. In her free time, she plays guitar, reads, bakes, and spends time outdoors.

Grant Pinkston

Grant is a 23 from Atlanta, GA studying economics and quantitative social science with a focus in geography. He is involved in the DOC and works for The Dartmouth as the templating editor. He loves going to diners in the upper valley and is left-handed most of the time.

Blake (Guanting) Yang

Blake Yang '23 is a math major who dreams of becoming a philosopher. Though he mainly works on pure math, he also takes a bunch of applied math classes (for the major requirement) yet thoroughly enjoyed them. Applied math and probability, in his view, can be useful when arguing with others on politics, and when playing poker or chess with your friends. Thus, he would like to discuss probability with fellow students during group tutoring.

Rine is a '22 double major in Economics and History from New Hampshire. A fun fact about her is that she is double jointed in her pinkies! On campus, she's involved with Club Taekwondo, research, and the Outing Club. She wanted to be a tutor to give back to the Dartmouth community.

Eva Balamreddy

Eva Balamreddy is a '23 from Hyderabad, India.

Her academic interests lie in the areas of Economics, Computer Science and Math.

Apart from academics, she's with the Dartmouth Libertarians and the Magnuson Centre for Entrepreneurship. In her free time she likes to play the drums and jam out to old school rock and metal. A fun fact about Eva is that she started riding motorcycles when she was 14, which is also when she broke her tooth in an accident.

 

Sonal Butala

Sonal is a '22 from NJ! She's a double major in mathematical data science and economics, with a minor in anthropology. On campus, she is involved in various finance clubs, such as SWS, as well as the Association for Women in Mathematics. She is also a product manager in the DALI Lab. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and spending time outside. She loves tutoring and is super excited to work with students to meet their needs.

 

Sunint Bindra

Sunint is a '22 from Calgary, Canada majoring in Computer Science and Economics. At Dartmouth he is a a Social Impact Scholar, athlete on the Taekwondo team, and Captain on the Parliamentary Debate team. He is also involved in research and serves on the Undergraduate Finance Committee. Sunint has worked as a SAS Notetaker and TA for ECON and COSC classes before and is looking forward to working as a group tutor. A fun fact is that he loves to ski and grew up near an Olympic ski hill. He is excited to get to know all of you and help you succeed in your classes!

Chad Klaas is from Hood River, Oregon, and is a '23 studying Biomedical Engineering. He enjoys the outdoors and staying active. Chad is on the Dartmouth Mens Water Polo team and enjoys hiking, biking, and surfing. He enjoys tutoring and helping those around him succeed. An interesting fact about Chad is that he went on a cultural exchange to Soochow University in China during his Junior year of High School.

Will Clendenning

Will is a '23 from Chicago, Illinois and a 3-2 dual degree student from Vassar College, majoring in Engineering and Math. Outside of academics, he is on Dartmouth's lightweight rowing team and a member of the Dartmouth Political Union. He also enjoys running, swimming, and playing a variety of board and video games. He is interested in tutoring because of how much tutors helped him in his classes, and wants to do the same. One fun fact about Will is that he collects soda tabs and has over 2000 of them currently.

Sabrina Barton

Sabrina is a '24 from New York City. While her major is currently Undecided, she is considering pursuing Engineering. She also enjoys exploring classes in the Linguistics, Computer Science, and Earth Science departments. She has previously been involved with programs in the Sustainability Office and is currently participating in the MLDP program run by the Rockefeller Center. She wants to be a tutor because she wants to get the opportunity to help people who are just starting their journey with French, and to encourage them to pursue the language further. Through tutoring in French, she also hopes to gain a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the language.

Noa Phillips

Noa Phillips is a '23 originally from California but currently living in Louisiana. He is a government major on the pre-health track. Outside of the classroom, he is involved with the Committee on Standards, Dartmouth College Radio, and the Dartmouth Alliance for Children of Color. In his free time he likes to watch basketball, football, and he enjoys reading articles about politics. Noa wants to be a tutor because he has had excellent peers/tutors who have helped him and he wants to repay that by helping others. Lastly, a fun fact about Noa is that he has a twin.

Elllie Curtis

Ellie is a '22 from Waitsfield Vermont studying Government and Environmental Policy at Dartmouth. On campus, she captains the Alpine Ski Team, and has conducted research for the Irving Institute on the electric regulatory entities and for the Government Department on democratic responsiveness. After college she hopes to work on climate justice issues in order to make the decarbonization transition as equitable as possible. She has also taken French throughout her entire ecucation, and is excited to be a tutor to turn the language into not just a requirement to fulfill but something to be celebrated!

Felix Rawlinson is a '24 from Gloucestershire in England. He loves rowing, got a silver medal representing GB at the junior world rowing championships in 2019 and is currently on the men's varsity heavyweight crew team at Dartmouth. He wants to be a biology and neuroscience double major. Felix wants to be a tutor because he has always received so much help from his peers when he was struggling with his subjects and wants to give back to the community that has helped him so much. One interesting fact about Felix is that he lives on a farm and looks after cows, sheep, pigs and even guinea fowl!

Jose Rosario

Jose is a '22 from Fort Lee, NJ. He is a government major with a Chinese language minor. As a group tutor, he is excited to help other students, and to pay forward all the help he has received throughout his time at Dartmouth. His hobbies include running, listening to music, and savoring dessert.

 

John Taylor

Jack Taylor is a '24 from Chicago Illinois. On campus, Jack is on the heavyweight rowing team. He is planning to major in Government, and is most interested in international relations and foreign policy. Outside of class, he enjoys biking, running, playing guitar, and listening to podcasts. Evan Yang

Evan is a '23 Government major from the Bay Area, California. Some of his campus involvements are Agape Christian Fellowship, the Dartmouth Law Journal, and the Dartmouth Sings A Cappella. He's passionate about music, political philosophy, and basketball. He's always had a heart for teaching and mentoring, developed by his experiences as a Kumon instructor, music teacher, and swim coach. A fun fact about Evan is that he can play 6 instruments (some much better than others)!

Mehak is a '24 from Houston, Texas! She is so excited to tutor because amazing tutors from Dartmouth helped her excel in courses and she wants to do the same for others. Mehak enjoys taking courses in the Government, Economics, Spanish, and Public Policy. On campus, Mehak is involved with preprofessional clubs, the South House Executive Council, and OPAL Pan-Asian student advising. A fun fact about Mehak is that she was a trips leader this year! Emilia is a '22 from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is majoring in Government modified with Economics and is interested in healthcare policy. Emilia loves hiking, cross country skiing, cooking and reading novels. Sarah Palmer

Sarah Palmer is a '24 from, wait for it... just outside of Boston! She is double majoring in Government and Comparative Literature. Mia is a '23 from Raleigh, NC studying Quantitative Social Sciences with minors in Global Health and Psychology. On campus, she is a Human Development Fellow at the Dickey Center, an Educational Access Advisor for SEAD with the Center for Social Impact and an associate executive editor of The Dartmouth newspaper. Damien Solinger Jeffers

Damien is a '23 and a first-generation student from rural Arkansas. They came to Dartmouth to study geography and are most involved with FYSEP and QuestBridge on campus. Damien most enjoys spending their free time hanging out with other FGLI or Queer students. Because they come from a background in which students are not prepared to become well-rounded global citizens, Damien really values helping others study foreign languages and the social sciences. A fun fact about them is that they memorized the world map as a child, but they aren't skilled enough at sketching to draw it out themselves.

Luis Cusihuallpa Solorzano

Luis Cusihuallpa is a near-life-long resident from Cuzco, Peru. He graduated as valedictorian of COAR–an IB boarding school for high-ability Peruvian students. Luis founded Cunhantã, a social venture to conduct sex education workshops with teenagers in Brazil and Peru. He also acquired hands-on research while supporting the Functional-Morphology Laboratory at the Federal University of Amazonas in Brazil. Luis served as president at 'Schools Free from Violence' National Forum in Peru and is an alumnus from the Latin American Leadership Academy. Luis plans to major in Economics and aspires to become an ethical office-bearer in his country. He wants to be tutor because he knows from personal experience what is like to learn a new language. In addition to Spanish and English, he has developed a global outlook and proficiency in two other Romance languages.

Fun Fact: Once Luis won two dollars in a two-dollar lottery ticket.

Jolie Drake

Jolie Drake is a '22 from Boise, Idaho studying economics, environmental science, and public policy. She is involved in many finance clubs around campus but loves to go hiking on the weekends and exploring around the upper valley in her free time. She has taken three latin courses at Dartmouth and loved being a Learning Fellow, but in her busy year decided to lead a study group to be able to still stay involved in the latin department and continue helping out other students!

Angela Burns is a 22 from Harrisburg Pennsylvania. She is a Linguistics major, with an interest in psychology as well. One fun fact about Angela is that she's been to the two smallest countries in the world! Jason McFadden

Jason is a '22 QSS major from Bethesda, Maryland who loves tutoring math and statistics! On campus, Jason is involved in Club Swim, research at DHMC, and UGAR. He plans to apply to medical school following his graduation from Dartmouth, with the eventual goal of becoming a pediatric ER physician. Kevin Hogan

Kevin is a '24 from Erie, Pennsylvania. He hopes to major in Engineering Sciences modified with Environmental Sciences, as well as pursue a minor in French. Outside of classes, he enjoys exploring the areas around Dartmouth with the DOC, visiting the organic farm, and attending cultural events hosted by the French Department. Peter is a '23 from Ketchum, Idaho and is an active skier and tennis player. He is majoring in mathematics and minoring in computer science and religion, and his favorite class at Dartmouth so far has been Math 31, which was on Abstract Algebra. Peter is also an active member of the Club Tennis team and works as a research assistant in the Mathematics department. He wants to tutor Math 8 to share his passion for Calculus and help students enjoy a class that many find challenging. A fun fact about Peter is that he had only 35 kids in his grade in high school.

Hoang Nguyen '24 is a Mathematics major from Hanoi, Vietnam. He had experience coaching juniors in his high school for their regional competitions in mathematics and computer science. At Dartmouth, he would like to explore how mathematics serves as a powerful tool in social sciences. He decides to become a math tutor since he deeply wants his peers to be able to see math clearly and enjoyably. Chris Huang is from Seattle, Washington. He is a '22 studying Biomedical Engineering Sciences. When he graduates, he plans to apply to medical school and pursue a career in surgery. He is interested in all kinds of outdoors activities including hiking, fishing, camping, and skiing, and He is also a really big gamer. He really enjoys tutoring because it allows him to help other students understand and engage with the material in a meaningful way, while also helping him achieve mastery of the material through teaching. Andres is a '24 from Los Altos, CA, hoping to major in Engineering or Computer Science. Outside of class, he plays for the Ultimate Frisbee team and runs around Hanover. He wants to be a tutor because he thinks it is an amazing way to meet and connect with new people and thinks it is a great opportunity to help the community while also talking about something he enjoys. Nate Houston

Nate is captivated by the beauty and wonder of the physical world. His favorite courses are usually in physics, chemistry, or math, and he sees the natural sciences as an endless frontier. At Dartmouth he is involved in triathlon and will be graduating in 2022 with a degree in electrical engineering and a minor in physics. His hobbies include architecture, scuba diving, ice sculpting, and dirt biking.

Zoe Thierfelder

Zoe is a 24 from Princeton, NJ. On campus, she is on ski patrol, a member of the Dartmouth Sings, and a comparative literature major. She loves coffee, skiing, books, and the color green. Getting to talk about classes outside of official class time is one of the best parts about college and peer tutoring is an awesome way to do that!

 

Arya Kadakia

Arya is a '22 from Mumbai, India. He's a psychology major and global health minor and is currently involved with the Mental Health Union, clinical research, and Greek Life on campus. He's also passionate about photography, scuba diving, and telehealth and can talk endlessly about all. Arya is excited to become a tutor because he loves to discuss subjects that fascinate him and he enjoys learning from his peers through this process as well. An interesting fact about Arya is that he is almost ambidextrous because he eats and writes with different hands!

Caroline is a '24 from New Jersey who uses she/her pronouns. She plans on majoring in psychology or neuroscience with a minor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is passionate about improving mental health on campus and among youth. On campus, Caroline enjoys being involved in the Mental Health Student Union, being a SAPA, writing for Spare Rib magazine, and being a First Year Trips leader. In her free time, she likes to play tennis, read memoirs, and listen to indie music. Caroline's aim in being a tutor is to ease students' stress about a course and provide a safe, comfortable space for students to be curious. One fun fact about her is that she had braces for nearly seven years!

Andrew Goyette

Andrew is a '23 from Smithfield, Rhode Island, and he is majoring in neuroscience and minoring in Russian. After Dartmouth, he hopes to enter medical school to prepare for a possible career in clinical research investigating infectious diseases or mental illness. Outside of the classroom, Andrew can often be found playing sports, such as hockey on Occom Pond in the winter, running around campus, and skiing. He also volunteers in the Luikart lab, which studies the relationship between Pten dysfunction and autism using mice models. Andrew wants to be a tutor because he seeks to reduce his peers' stress in difficult classes and help them understand the material better so they can enjoy what they are learning. An interesting fact about him is that he owns a hockey jersey collection.

 

Natalie Schreder

Natalie is a '24 from Connecticut who is interested in studying Engineering and Neuroscience. At Dartmouth she is involved with Music Empowerment and does research with a professor in the Psych and Brain Sciences Department. Natalie sees tutoring as an opportunity to pass on the advice and insights that she gained from past peer tutors. In her free time, she enjoys playing spikeball on the green.

Anna TerMolen is from Evanston, IL which is the first suburb north of Chicago. She is a psychology major, a biology minor, and on the pre-med track. Outside of classes, she does gastroenterology research, works with Dartmouth Stroke Action Program, and OPAL education. During her free time, she enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, doing others' makeup, and meeting new people on campus. She wants to tutor because she loves sharing her knowledge and studying tips with others. Additionally, she loves spending time with other students from across campus. Her fun fact is that she has sprained both her ankles, both her wrists, broken her arm and broken her leg!

Joshua Calianos

Josh Calianos is a '22 who studies Quantitative Social Science and German. He's from Northampton, MA, which is on the side of the state that's far from Boston.

 

Around campus, Josh likes gravity and going down hills quickly and racing for both the cycling team and the club alpine skiing team. He is also involved with campus and local political groups and is an alumnus of the Biden/Harris campaign. He is very excited for the release of the fourth season of Ozark and hopes that it coincides with an upcoming break or flight or quarantine that allows him to watch it all at once.

 

He tutors because his Dartmouth experience would have been very different had he not taken such enjoyable first classes in the QSS and German departments. He wants to share that experience with others and hopes to draw them to similar paths.

Sathya Thenappan is from Singapore. He's a '23 currently majoring in CS and QSS with a focus on Geography. He's involved in the Dartmouth Powerlifting club on campus and enjoys doing Crossfit during my free time. He's also grown to enjoy hiking since my arrival at Dartmouth. He's keen on becoming a tutor as he believes it is a great way to revisit some of his favourite classes he's taken at Dartmouth and hopefully enable others to appreciate these classes the same way he does. She was born and raised in the Bronx, NY but has recently moved to Connecticut where she lives with her mom and little sister. Among her favorite things to do are play basketball and softball, watch funny videos with her friends, and have long discussions about current world issues.
